BIO

Alessandra Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and Latin fusion artist based in New York’s Hudson Valley — and a living testament to the power of not giving up.

Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, Alessandra discovered her voice at the age of five. She performed in television programs, competitions, and theater productions across the island before studying Music Education at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, where she refined her technique and deepened her understanding of vocal artistry.

Life, however, took an unexpected turn.

After becoming a mother and finding herself rooted in New York, Alessandra stepped away from the stage for over a decade. Though she sang quietly — in the shower, in private, holding onto a dream she never fully released — very few people knew she had once been a performer.

One day, her son asked her a simple question:
“Mom, why don’t you start singing again?”

In that moment, she realized something powerful — she could not teach her son to chase his dreams if she had abandoned her own.

And so, in 2017, she returned.

Her reentry into music began humbly. Alessandra started singing at La Super Latina radio in Poughkeepsie, where she was later invited to perform at the station’s anniversary celebration. There, she connected with the digital orchestra Son Latinos — a collaboration that marked her first real step back onto a stage in years.

The Kingston community embraced her next. She performed at small local events, cultural gatherings, and community celebrations — each opportunity reinforcing her decision to keep going. What began with speakers and backing tracks gradually evolved into live musician ensembles, percussion collaborations, and full-stage productions. The growth was steady, earned, and deeply supported by the community around her.

From those grassroots beginnings, Alessandra expanded into regional festival circuits, university stages, and cross-state cultural showcases across New York, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico.

Her recent performance highlights include Hispanic Heritage Festivals across multiple states, the Juneteenth Concert Series in Warwick, SUNY Orange’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, Tequila & Taco Festival, Applefest in Warwick, Porch Fest in Poughkeepsie, Soul Under the Stars in Newburgh, and opening for El Chaval de la Bachata in Albany, New York. She also marked a powerful full-circle milestone with her first performance in Puerto Rico in over two decades.

Possessing a rich contralto range that extends into mezzo-soprano territory, Alessandra blends Caribbean rhythms, Latin genre traditions, and contemporary fusion into emotionally resonant live experiences. In 2025, her performances evolved from track-based sets into fully live ensemble collaborations featuring percussion, improvisation, and genre-blending arrangements.

Her recorded catalog includes her debut single “Como Te Olvido” (2023), collaborations with Daniel Villegas including “Orgullo y Dolor,” and featured appearances on “Mi Otra Mitad” and “Yo Nací Pa’ Esto” (2024). In October 2025, she released “Noche en la Parguera.” Her upcoming 2026 release, “Destination Protocol,” featuring Daniel Villegas and Boca Floja, reflects her continued artistic evolution.

At the heart of Alessandra’s work is a simple but powerful message:

No matter how far you feel from your dreams, you are never too late to return to them.

Her performances are filled with cultural pride, emotional depth, and an infectious energy that invites audiences to dance, reflect, and believe again.

In a world that teaches us to compete, “Love” asks what would happen if we chose each other instead. Built from conversation, vulnerability, and shared exhaustion, the song moves through burnout, isolation, hunger, and hope — landing on the radical idea that community might still save us. Two voices intertwine not to overpower one another, but to hold each other up.
