From the recording L.O.V.E.
This song came from a very real conversation about how heavy life feels right now. So many people are overworked, isolated, financially stressed, and emotionally burned out. Instead of pretending everything is okay, we wanted to create something honest — a song that asks what community actually means when people are struggling just to survive. “Love” isn’t about romance; it’s about choosing empathy over ego, solidarity over competition, and remembering that healing happens together.
Lyrics
The world is heavy. Day to day life feels less about solidarity and more about money — and that weight is what pushed this song into existence.
Written and recorded together with Callie Mackenzie, Love grew out of an honest conversation about what community actually means when people are burned out, isolated, and fighting twice as hard just to be seen. The call-and-response isn't just a musical choice — it's the point. Two voices working it out together, asking hard questions, and landing somewhere that feels like hope.
lyrics
They don’t see our value
We give out more, than what they perceive
And when they see our value
They’ll see with unity we’ll succeed
Pre-Chorus
We’re fighting twice as hard with ammunition, thinking it’s a competition
What we need is community
What does that even mean?
Chorus 1:
We need Love
L etting go of ego
We need love
O pening our eyes to see each other’s struggle.
We need Love
Valuing all beings
We need love
Envisioning a new world
We need love
[guitar jam]
Verse 2:
Baby I’m so tired, smoldering from the burnout taking over me
Your voice will set you free, tell them tell them what you need
The isolation is getting out of control Hunger in my heart, my belly and my soul I can’t breathe
Speak Up. Level Up. Baby! You never know who’s gonna show up.
Pre-Chorus
We’re fighting twice as hard with ammunition, thinking it’s a competition
What we need is community
What does that even mean?
Chorus 2:
We need Love
Leaving behind what stuck in our mind
We need love
Opening up our hearts to redefine
We need love
We need Love
Virtue is it’s own reward
We need love
Envisioning a new world
We need Love
